Acauã Novais is a 37-year-old multidisciplinary designer based in São Paulo. A Black man with deep roots in his city, his career is defined by the intersection of culture, strategy, and design.
He spent 4 years at Grupo Vegas, developing posters, menus, and diverse print and digital collateral for iconic venues and concerts such as Cine Joia, Lions Nightclub, Yacht, Riviera, and Z Carniceria. Following this, he contributed to the Box1824 team for 3 years, focusing on strategic research for brands such as Nike, Itaú, Ambev, Heineken, Redley, Google, and Netflix, delivering vital visual insights for their creative strategies and presentations. His leadership background includes serving as Design Coordinator for the Better Drinks holding company, overseeing brands like Baer-Mate, Cerveja Praya, F!VE Drinks, Mamba Water, Vivant Wines, and Vermelhão. He also headed the design department at Dueto Produções, where he created the visual identity for the C6 Fest 2024 festival. Currently, he is the Creative Manager at SHARP, managing both design and creative copy teams while executing key visuals, brand identities, and high-stakes presentations.
As a freelance designer, he has worked with a wide range of brands, including Timberland, West Coast, Perestroika, Humora, MESA Company, Ladrilar and Mareh Music, as well as collaborating with musical artists and bands such as Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), M. Takara (Hurtmold, São Paulo Underground, Rakta), Nação Zumbi, and Don L. Acauã’s work is inherently multidisciplinary, blending static and motion graphics, illustration, AI-assisted creation, and a mix of digital and analog techniques.
